North will not pay the severance package – HegnarOnline

North Energy will not pay the severance package of 5.8 million, after CEO Erik Karlstrøm had to go on the day. The case could end in court, writes DN.

Chairman Anders Onarheim says that “the board does not intend to provide any severance package to Karlstrøm” but we can not say why Karlstrøm had to leave.

Karlstrøm commanding North from inception in 2007 until he was fired on the day Thursday.

– This is a personnel matter that we hold internally, and I do not need to say something about this, out of respect for Karlstrøm and the further process, says Onarheim told DN.

Karlstrøm told the newspaper that he wants to be paid the severance package, but will not make any comment beyond that.

Lawyer and partner in the law firm Dalan, Eivind Arntsen, has extensive experience in assisting in labor disputes.

– It sounds very specifically that the Board will not pay out severance package. Either something has happened we do not know, or switch board both the agreement and the Working Environment Act. Such a dispute could soon end up in the courtroom, although they often settled through negotiation, says Arntsen to DN, and specifies that he speaks on a general basis.
