Aker Solutions opens for Iran initiative – Petro.no

The oil services company Aker Solutions opens to resume operations in Iran if the parties about its nuclear program will reach an agreement and the sanctions against Iran are removed, type NTB .

– We have had deliveries in Iran before the introduction of sanctions, and would be interested in looking at new opportunities in the country upon termination of sanctions, says communications manager Bunny Nooryani in Aker Solutions to Dagens Næringsliv.

Nooryani justifies the company’s interest in Iran that the country has large oil and gas deposits. The companies in the Aker system has previously held several assignments linked Iran, which has the world’s fourth largest oil reserves and the world’s largest gas reserves.

It Kjell Inge Røkke controlled Aker Solutions is not the only company looking to take market Iran. Also Total, Shell and Eni are ready to do the same.

Statoil were present in Iran until 2013. The group’s official attitude to resume operations in the country are lukewarm, but according to the Norwegian ambassador to Iran, Aud Lise Norheim, the interest is generally increasing from Norwegian companies wanting advice for investing in the country.

– We are seeing increased interest from Norwegian industry now. It is especially companies in the petroleum sector and aquaculture which looks to Iran, says Nooryani.
