An increasing number of reports from hidden fortunes – Hegnar Online

153 people contacted the tax authorities to report the money they had given during the first six months, writes Aftenposten.

Although the tax must be paid with interest for up to ten years back in time, however, it is forgiveness for those who report voluntarily. If this information is given on its own initiative will be no additional tax even if the money has been kept hidden.

Norwegian tax authorities issued decisions in 100 cases in the first half where people had reported assets and income voluntarily. For these cases was the total taxable amount determined to 2.5 billion in assets and 145 million in revenue.

A total of 213 individuals received tax amnesty last year. It is Switzerland which is holding its land to hide money abroad. Now including pressure from the United States led to it has become easier to obtain information about the foreigners’ assets in Swiss banks.

Tax Director Hans Christian Holte believes Norwegians probably feel a stronger pressure than before.

– I think they feel the pressure. The money is typically hidden in an account in Switzerland. They see that Switzerland and other countries gives us more information than before, and they give it faster. We are informed that we are informed more easily than before, and this is enough known among those involved, says Holte.
