Sales of apartments in the air, but the initiation worry – HegnarOnline

The sale of apartments increased by 34 percent in August compared with the same month last year. Although this is home sales so far this year 15 percent behind the level of the same period last year, according to figures from the Homebuilders Association.

Jaeger says that we need 37,000 new homes each year, but we can not build enough.

Housing sales in August is 19 percent over the same month last year. Apartments have the greatest sales increase by 34 percent, while for small houses and detached houses increased sales by respectively 20 and 1 percent. Housing starts in the month of August is 10 percent behind the August 2013 year to date, initiated 16 percent fewer homes than the same period last year. The largest decrease has initiation of apartments by 25 percent, while for small houses and villas, the decline in housing starts, respectively 15 and 9 percent ..

Most counties experienced a decline in both sales and housing starts, while Oslo and Akershus affected far the strongest of the decline in housing starts.
