– I do not believe that tens of thousands of businesses hazards with falsehood, says the experienced business owner when he goes in straight with research at the Norwegian School which discourages removing wealth tax. In the newspaper Dagens Business says Rieber he believes scientists are unrealistic.
Ideal models
– When so many people say that wealth tax is not working as the researchers claim, it must mean that they have made some non-profit models that are not appropriate for the individual company, says the former NHO president.
He is supported by Professor Ole Gjems Onstad BI which calls for alternative views on property taxation with their counterparts in Bergen. Centre for Tax Research at NHH has been clear that they believe the wealth tax should be removed so the business wants.
– Can be entitled
At the Norwegian School defends professor and former Conservative cabinet minister Victor Norman tax researchers and their clear argument for retaining wealth tax.
– It could be because it is right. We shall surely not exclude that part of the NHH as statements actually right, says Victor Norman to Today’s Business. He is not even part of the tax research, but argues that there are other types of taxation which could have been removed.
– Personally I would have prioritized other tax cuts. Conservatives have always been concerned that the tax system should encourage people to work and the private sector to create jobs. Then the tax burden shifted from labor income to one or another form of taxation of capital, that of businesses and business owners, says Victor Norman.
The last thing cut
Professor Jarle Møen at NHH is in his in his commentary on Paul-Christian Rieber attack.
– my agenda is to show that there is a richer menu of tax measures for an efficient economy. From a purely efficiency considerations, the rate of property tax approximately the last places you should cut, says Møen to Today’s Business.
