Sales of hybrid cars skyrocketed – OBI Online

In August it registered 13,232 new passenger cars in Norway. This is 628 more (+ 5.0 percent) than in August 2015. Compared with the average for the month of August the 10 preceding years, this year’s August figures 26.3 per cent higher (+ 2,756 cars). So far this year it registered 102,021 new passenger cars. There are 2,631 more (+ 2.6 percent) than in the same period in 2015, according to figures from OFV AS.

It was used imported 1,485 cars in August. This is 513 fewer (- 25.7 percent) than in August 2015. So far this year it registered 10,986 used imported cars. There are 4,290 fewer (- 28.1 percent) than in the same period in 2015.

In August were made 42,645 changes of ownership of cars (used car sales). There are 4,522 more (+ 11.9 percent) than in August 2015.

In August, 29.0 percent of all newly registered passenger cars, diesel engine, in August 2015 the share was 38.5 percent. If we deduct diesel hybrids had 28.3 percent of the newly registered passenger cars in August, diesel engine, while the proportion in 2015 was 38.1 percent. 55.7 percent of the new passenger cars registered in August, gasoline engine, we draw from the petrol hybrid drive petrol engine share 28.7 percent. In 2015, the proportion of cars with petrol engine 44.3 percent and 33.9 percent when gasoline hybrid operation is not included.

There were registered 3676 new cars with hybrid operation in August. There are 2,316 more (+ 170.3 percent) than in August 2015. The passenger cars with hybrid drive had 27.8 percent market share in August this year, while the market in August 2015 was 10.8 percent

In August registered 2,014 new cars with zero emissions. There are 152 fewer (- 7.0 percent) than in August 2015. Zero emissions vehicles had 15.2 percent market share among passenger cars in August, while the market in August 2015 was 17.2 percent.

Only one of the 10 most registered car models in August, comes exclusively with petrol or diesel engines (Tiguan), rest are either hybrids or electric cars.
