today is published skattelistene for 2015 on the tax administration’s website. Anyone can search in skattelistene, but be aware that Parliament has decided that the who is seeking in skattelistene, to be logged. It means that the person being searched, know who has applied, which has led to far fewer searches in the skattelistene now than when they were “fair game” a few years ago.
Regardless of whether you are for or against the public tax information lists, it may be good to know what they tell and do not tell about people’s personal finances.

For low income?
Skattelistene contains information about tax paid, net income and net worth from the previous tax year. Many feel, however, that information about them not even vote, and this is often related to what is listed as income.
Skattelistene shows net income, which is what you received in wages, capital income and benefits in kind – minus the deductions that personfradrag, basic allowances and, for example, rentefradrag. Because everyone gets at least one allowance, net income in the skattelistene never be as much as what you actually earned, with some exceptions.
Many norwegians have a lot of loans, partly because of high house prices. A lot of loan provides a lower net income because a deduction for all the interest you paid in the year, deducted from the first. This can be part of the explanation if people have a lower net income this year than last, despite the fact that they are in the same job. They have simply taken up more loans.
Other deductions that can be with to mask the real income, such as deductions for child care or business trips.
Votes: how To interpret skattelistene
All income, not just wages
It also happens that the net income that appears in the charts is higher than the actual bruttolønnen the year. This can be persons who do not have debt (i.e. no rentefradrag), but with fortune because kapitalinntektene (income from interest, rental, capital gains, and other) is higher than the allowances, and the paid net wealth tax leads to a higher assessed tax.
keep in Mind that not only are all the allowances that affect net income, but that a taxpayer may have more income, not only from the place they work. We should in other words not setting something equal sign between wages and the like are listed as the net income in the tax return. The income listed in the skattelistene is not necessarily a good indication of what different professions earn. Then it can be better, for example, to look at the statistics on wages from STATISTICS norway.

Say little about fortune
What applies to the numbers on the fortune, so it’s about as imprecise if you are wondering about the actual value of what people own. Assessed tax value of housing and holiday homes is much lower than the actual market value. So even if a person is listed with 0 million in wealth, he/she may have millions in fortune. The reason for that is that it is the net ligningsformue listed in skattelistene. Note also that people who are married, can freely transfer values among themselves so that everything can be listed only on one spouse.
If one is keen to find out what people earn or how large the values they have, provides skattelistene in the best case, just an idea. It skattelistene, however, certainly says something about, is what was paid in taxes last year. The lists keeps with other words exactly what they promise.
