Tord Lien: Dvalin will give to 6,000 man-years in the three year – Obi Online

It goes out of the plan for development and operation (PDO) as the operator DEA on Monday submitted to the ministry of Petroleum and energy.

the Gas field which was discovered in 2010, is to be developed up to 2020, and will require investments of 10.2 billion. Dvalin is the largest new development project on the Norwegian continental shelf in years.

Good news

– the Development provides long-awaited work for the supplier industry, estimated to be over 6,000 man-years in the development phase. It is very good news that will bring activity, employment and value creation in the industry, ” says minister of petroleum and energy Tord Lien (progress party) in a press release.

Dvalin is a subsea development where a template with four wells to be placed on the seabed. The gas and condensate will be transported in the pipeline to the Heidrun platform 15 kilometres away and then sent on to the Nyhamna for further processing and export.

Cut costs

Aker Solutions and Aibel are vying for the contract on the new prosessmodulen on the Heidrun platform. Dvalin is the first field development on the Norwegian continental shelf where the German DEA is the operator.

Compared with the original plans, we have managed to reduce the costs of the project, with over 20 per cent. It is a huge step for the DEA to submit the plan for development and operation, and thus take the project into a new phase, says ceo Hans Hermann Andreae in the DEA Norge.

Dvalin-the field is located 15 kilometres northwest of the Heidrun field and contains 18,2 billion standard cubic metres of gas. Driftsperioden is from 2020 to 2032. (©NTB)
