An emergency meeting of the Get: 96 must go – E24

the Meeting request to the gloom of the assembly appeared in the employees ‘ inboxes Friday. An employee E24 have talked with, called the timing of the “tragicomic”.

– Many have had a quite difficult weekend – having to wait so long when you know what is in the ferment, is not very pleasant. And they once again do it just before christmas, is tragicomic, ” says an employee of the E24.

Adminisrerende director Gunnar Evensen informed the assembly on Tuesday that the 96 employees have to go.

Get has 840 employees in Norway, and the company says thus over ten per cent of the workforce. All employees have been offered severance package.

Øyvind Society, director of public affairs in Get, to confirm the information towards the E24.

Bought by TDC

In the last year was Get bought up by the Danish telephone company TDC, and in January of this year wrote Fædrelandsvennen that a total of 32 man-years in TDC in Norway would disappear as a consequence of the purchase.

In the year it was TDC-the part that got to review, and this year is it Get. It’s like a slightly morbid christmas bonus, ” says the employee.

Notified about changes

Of the request to the assembly as the chief executive officer Gunnar Evensen sent to employees Friday, called, among other things, that the market is in big changes and that it affects Gets the position.

“Innholdskostnadene rises sharply, at the same time that more and more customers only want broadband from Get. These changes will have financial impact on the company already from the next year”, called it in the e-mail from Evensen.

“to secure a good position for the Get ahead, we plan now to implement several important changes”, called it forth.
