In Norway amount 22.000 million for each of those who have worked full time for at least five years.
Those who work part-time receive reduced its allocation accordingly. The money stays there until retirement age, so it’s not a Christmas present that gives immediate pleasure.
It is the second consecutive year that Ikea allocates 100 million euros (nearly 900 million) on pensions at this way. Last year the money was not allocated, only allocated.
Billion dealt
That means 200 million euros (close to 1.8 billion) now being awarded faithful employees. The amount is distributed among the over 40 Ikea countries by wage levels in countries. Ikea has around 150,000 employees worldwide.
– The program will continue in the years ahead, but the annual allocations will depend on the financial performance of the Ikea Group, says communications manager Jan Christian Thommesen in Ikea Norway.
Everyone gets equal
The amount is within each country the same for all who qualify, regardless of position, salary and workplace in Ikea.
Ikea has just under 3,000 employees Norway and Thommesen estimates that around 1,000 of these have worked for so long in the company that they get their share of the pension pot.
Christmas pot comes on top of the usual job pension (company pension) that all businesses in Norway are committed to have. Here the law says that at least 2 percent of the employee’s salary each year shall be allocated to such pension.
Ikea also has the results-oriented bonus system One Ikea Bonus, which are linked to turnover and profit in each country.
