Now Netflix price increases – BergensAvisen

Earlier this year Netflix began streaming content in 4K resolution, also known as UHD, writes Teknofil.no. The sample is still relatively limited, and only selected movies and TV shows are available in the huge resolution.

Now, Netflix decided to raise the price to see 4K content, reports The Verge.

40 MILLION UP

From costing 79 dollars a month (or 89 for new customers) will you now have to pay 119 dollars to get access to 4K material.

Netflix has thus baked into 4K supply into the already existing subscription type that allows you to stream Netflix content to four devices simultaneously. If you already have “family pack” of 119 million price will remain the same as before.

The regular HD package to Netflix lets you use the service from two devices simultaneously.

EXPENSIVE TO DRIVE WITH 4K

Price adjustment is according to Variety increased costs that come with producing, buying, and distribution of 4K material. In order to stream 4K material you need namely a power line on the full 25 Mbit / s, which is still not available to many.

Currently, you need a newer smart TV from either Samsung, LG, Sony and Vizio to watch Netflix in 4K.
