Statoil to cut around 500 jobs by the end of 2016, reports said.
– The oil and gas industry is facing a serious global efficiency and cost challenges. Statoil is conducting a comprehensive improvement agenda to ensure the long-term business and value creation on the Norwegian continental shelf. Staffing frame that we have now decided ensures safe and efficient operation, as well as expertise for the new tasks ahead, says Arne Sigve Nylund, executive vice president for Development and Production Norway, according to the news agency.
The adopted framework for staffing is about 5 percent lower than the current level.
