Simensen vant suverent, men når DN ringer for å fortelle om triumfen, tror hun ikke på beskjeden. Faktisk tror hun ikke på resultatet før hun får se det svart på hvitt i en epost.
Simsensen forutså utviklingen i kronekursen, oljeprisen, boligprisene, boligrentene, hva som ble vinneraksjen blant de største selskapene på Oslo Børs, og mer.
– Hvordan har du klart å gjøre så nøyaktige anslag for den økonomiske utviklingen i Norge?
– Nå skal du høre her. Jeg følger veldig mye med på hva som skjer med oljeprisen og kronen og slikt. Det er faktorer som potensielt påvirker min norske pensjon i stor grad, så det er svært viktig for meg. Og så er jeg en tilhenger av sunn fornuft. Da man så tegn på at det gikk dårlig med oljeprisen, var det klart det blir tøffere tider i Norge, sier Simensen.
– Jeg har ikke noen økonomisk utdannelse, men bruker en del tid på å tenke gjennom disse temaene når jeg planlegger fremtiden min, understreker hun.
Tapte på bankkrisen
Simensen forteller at hun har litt erfaring med å investere i aksjer, men at hun har holdt seg unna slikt etter at hun tapte stort under den norske bankkrisen på slutten av 80- og starten på 90-tallet.
– Da tapte jeg nesten en halv million kroner på aksjer i Kreditkassen, sier hun.
Simensen forteller om dramatikken og misnøyen da Staten gjennom Statens Banksikringsfond og Statens Bankinvesteringsfond overtok aksjene i landets tre største forretningsbanker, DNB, Fokus Bank og Kreditkassen. Forløpet var de enorme nedskrivningene hele banksektoren hadde tatt etter år med kraftig utlånsvekst, som var så store at de ble vurdert som en trussel for hele det norske banksystemet.
– Etter det mistet jeg interessen. Men jeg har alltid vært glad i tall, og fortsatt å følge med siden, sier hun.
Flaks
Seniorøkonom Ole André Kjennerud i meglerhuset DNB Markets er en av ekspertene som ble slått ned i støvlene av pensjonisten.
– Hvordan reagerer du på å bli slått av en amatør?
– Jeg er ganske ydmyk til det vi gjør av prognosearbeid når det gjelder konkrete tall. Det begynte med kjøp av Bionor Pharma, som skulle vise seg svært lukrativt. Deretter fulgte et knippe selskaper som opererer i oljemarkedet: African Petroleum Corporation (APCL), Electomagnetic Geoservices (EMGS) og REC.
Sistnevnte ble så byttet ut med DNO, som var hans eneste transaksjon hele uken.

Rolig i båten
– Strategien var å kjøpe de volatile aksjene som kunne gi en seier, og heller sitte rolig i båten når andre sier at jeg skal ta ut gevinst. Men du må jo også ha litt flaks. Og til slutt gikk det bra, sier Sem.
Han sier han lærte om aksjemarkedet i ung alder, og betegner sin far som «konservativ aksjesparer».
– Du har gjort det omvendte av din konservative far?
– Ja, egentlig. Jeg tror nok ikke han ville prøvd dette her i det virkelig aksjemarkedet, sier Sem.

Yara alerts in a stock exchange release on Friday morning that the company early winter an operating profit of 700 million and an operating profit before tax (EBITDA) of 3.5 billion.
The plant in Montoir in France is one of Yara’s smallest fertilizer plants.
