Norwegians splurge most holiday – Trønder-Avisa

Norwegian households plan to spend in excess of 23,000 million during the year, and there are about 1,500 million less than last year. It turns surveys conducted by TNS Gallup on behalf of Nordea.

But the Norwegian holiday budget is still 56 percent of Danes and almost 40 percent of Swedes.

Fall in oil prices

While the Danes are planning to spend just under 15,000 dollars, the Swedes have allocated just under 17,000 dollars. Finns plan to spend about 12,400 dollars per household.

– The changes in the Norwegian economy, which fall in oil prices, higher unemployment and warning of lower wage growth, has led to the Norwegians hold little closer on the wallet, says Elin Reitan , consumer economist at Nordea said.

The Danes, however, has placed the biggest crisis behind them and increases their summer budget this year, while the Swedes will spend more money on this year’s summer vacation in years, and low inflation and low interest is probably the reason for this, says Reitan.

– Yes, both

The Norwegians also raises more overseas holiday than our closest neighbors. Over half of us are planning to spend the bulk or part of your holiday abroad this summer, while 45 percent will be in Norway most of the holiday.

– Previous studies show that even if we Norwegians are on top in Scandinavia when comes to owning home, so we are at the bottom in spending leisure our residence. This helps to increase the holiday budget significantly for overseas holidays are over twice as expensive as Norway vacation, says Reitan.

Last week let FIND presented figures from their surveys showing that 67 percent of respondents share holiday in one Norwegian and one foreign part. Two out of three of us will thus holidaying at home and abroad.

Weather-trigger

Sun, swimming and the Mediterranean are still highly regarded among Norwegians, but according FIND survey enthusiasm has dalt slightly from last year, while Norway interest has soared.

– It may be because the last two Norway ssom years has been good in many parts of the country. The trigger interest in holidaying in their own country, says Terje Berge, commercial director of FIND trip.

Cold May

There are indications that a record cold maimåned has contributed to a rush of purchases and search for tropical travels. FINN track of how many people click on from their pages to order sides, shows that the number of clicks halfway in June is in line with figures for May.

On top among search destinations are Greece, Spain and Turkey. With orders at the last minute it may well be that the planned vacation budget cracks:

– Now one might provide at least 5,000 dollars per person for a one week package tour with departure in the joint. But the price is quite another if it rains ii July says Berge.
