Veiselskapet to Kristiansand – NRK

The new veiselskapet will be added to the Kristiansand region. It confirmed Transport Minister Ketil Solvik-Olsen (FRP) at a press conference today.

He says knowledge and recruitment is emphasized in the decision.

– Here we have recruitment opportunities from industry, business and administration, and a good university environment. Not least, we have seen a culture where the earlier PPP projects have developed an attitude to think again.

And that’s what we think will be a success criterion for a veiselskap, says Solvik -Olsen.

Transport Minister Ketil Solvik-Olsen could reveal the news at a press conference in Kristiansand today.

– The most important thing is the culture we are experiencing has already been established here. This is a company that will build the road better, faster and cheaper. Then we must have qualified people who have done similar things before, from oil industry or from the road sector.

– And a comprehensive assessment enables Kristiansand is best suited to it.

– Not a employment project

Transport Minister says he envisions a two-digit number of jobs, and not a three-digit so many first thought.

– This is not a district action . We envision a lean and efficient administration. We are talking about a two-digit number of employees, possibly between 50 and 80.

– I am keen that we should have the most to build, and the fewest to schedule.

It is now up to the board to decide where in the Kristiansand region veiselskapets headquarters will be located.

Member of Parliament for West Agder FRP, Annie Michaelsen, is very pleased that the New Roads AS coming to South Coast.

– Very good news. This is the crown of the plant. First we got approval for E18 and E39 and so we manage to get veiselskapet to Southern Norway. It’s a big win for us.

– What does this mean for the region?

– It means, firstly, that we get a cluster which gives us expertise in this area for many years to come. About a road being built elsewhere in the country, we have the expertise here. It is important when we consider that we are in a trough in the oil sector, we have other leg to stand on here in the region, says Michaelsen.
