Catholics in Tromsø will repay millions – HegnarOnline

Bishop Berislav Grgic settles thus on a different line than the Oslo Catholic Diocese in the matter of whether the Catholic Church in Norway has received too much support, printer Our Country.

Tromso Catholic staple covers the three northernmost counties. They believe even they have received close to 2.3 million too much in support between 2011 and 2014.

– For us it is desirable to close the case if the government grants, explains bishop in Tromsø.

The three Catholic pins in Norway – Oslo, Trondheim and Tromsø – operate with joint membership list. Oslo Catholic Diocese has acknowledged the use of “telephone method” and brought up people they thought were Catholic immigrants to Norway.

– The method was used by four people in Oslo Catholic Diocese, and they used it also to find Catholics in northern Norway, said Grgic, but adds that none of the priests in his staple have proceeded in this way. (© NTB)
