Now costs the euro over nine million – Aftenposten

– We had not predicted that it would weaken so much. We expected it to be weak, but not as much as what we see now, said currency analyst Camilla Viland of DNB Markets said.

For the first time since mid-January costs 1 euro now over 9 million.

The depreciation due primarily oil prices again fell below 60 dollars a barrel, explains Viland. In addition, she points out that Norges Bank in June lowered its key rate and that the players in the fixed income market therefore expecting lower interest rates in Norway.

– These are conditions that are negative for the crown, and causes that interest in it is so great. Meanwhile begins Norwegians now to go on holiday, which in turn leads to a weak dollar, said currency analyst.

Weakened all summer

Are you planning a trip abroad this summer, it’s going to be more expensive than before. It is not just the euro which has become more expensive. $ 1 cost Thursday morning 8.2275 dollars, the most expensive since March.

The outlook for the crown ahead is not so encouraging. Forecasts indicate that it will be weakened for a while to come.

– Over the summer, I think we must prepare ourselves for the course is that it is now. During the autumn we expect the oil price goes up, and then the crown will also strengthen. But it will still be on the weaker side than what we are used to, said currency analyst Viland.

– You think it will recover over time

DNB Markets’ forecasts is that the exchange rate six months is going to be at 8.40 kroner against the euro.

– There is still weak, but we believe it will recover over time, she says.

Savings

However, overseas holiday already paid, you do not have to worry very much, says consumer economist Magne Gundersen in Sparebank 1.

– There are a few basic tricks you can follow. If you rent the house, you can cook for themselves. Doing so in a few days, you get spared a good deal, he says to NTB.

– Moreover, remember to always pay in local currency when you have the ability, then you get it right heading. One can simply get a fight bad course if you pay in Norwegian kroner since it is the store that puts it.

You can also save a great deal of shopping by remembering tax schemes, points Gundersen.

– When shopping over certain amount you can get back on VAT. Ask for tax-receipt, take care of it and get back money at the airport on the way home. Then you can just about get back on the weaker krone, believes consumer economist.
