Over 100 reports of concern about Statoil for Labour Inspection – Sunnmørsposten

– We’ve got a big, an unusually large number of RAS messages about the working environment in Statoil from 2011 to 2015. We will not give out an exact figure, says regional director Borghild Rekve in Labour Inspection in western Norway to Stavanger Aftenblad.

RAS stands for Register of Occupational Diseases (RAS), and reports from doctors about patients who have reported occupational diseases.

Statoil takes the conclusion into consideration.

– After meetings with Labour Inspection, we agreed, together with our employees and protection service, to treat all restructuring cases in a joint body. This was established in January. The intention is that there should be an interaction arena to ensure effective and genuine employee participation in accordance with the Basic Agreement and the Working Environment Act. Here both the unions and safety service represented together with management. We feel that the solution is well received by all parties, including government, said press officer Morten Eek Statoil Stavanger Aftenblad.
