English: – Fair by bus, but not Airbus – Dagsavisen

English: – Fair by bus, but not Airbus – Dagsavisen

Many airlines do not follow up all decisions by Transport Appeals, and according to statistics, it is English that comes out worst. Consumer Council therefore urges passengers to select companies that are not “disobedient”.

– Most passengers get what they are entitled to, but it is not good that some airlines do not follow decisions of Transport Appeals says Ingeborg Flønes, director of consumer services in the Consumer Council.

Transportation Appeal Tribunal statistics for 2013 show that passengers got totally or partially upheld 131 of total 412 cases. In 33 of the cases where passengers protested, prevailed, selected airlines not to follow the decisions.

Dreamliner

According to the Consumer Council apply about half of the cases English and problems with Dreamliner planes. The company disagrees law, and therefore will not pay what they owe, says Flønes.

She emphasizes that although it is allowed to disagree in a decision as follows Tribunal existing law.

– Then you should also make amends, says Flønes that encourages passengers to use consumer power its to choose a company that follows Transport Appeals Board decisions.

– Do not pay to disobey, she says.

Airbus

In English shakes one head, and stresses that these complaints were about the flights where passengers despite everything got replacement airplane.

– The reason why English has ended this list is that we are fundamentally disagree that we should give discount once we have given customers a travel option. 2013 is also the first time Norwegian is on this list since its inception in 2002, says CIO Lasse Sandakerveien-Nielsen in English said.

– Originally the flights be conducted with Dreamliner, but because of the delay, we chose to use replacement airplane. The Tribunal considered the traveler was entitled to a price reduction of 10 percent, which we disagree, saying Sandakerveien-Nielsen.

He says that Norwegians Dreamliner passengers in these cases were flown with Airbus 330 and 340 instead.

Ironically

– Transit occurs in all airlines worldwide every day. The irony here is that it’s okay by bus and not by Airbus. Flies, for example from Oslo to Bardufoss and one because of the weather situation must land in Tromsø instead, set one up bus for the last stretch that passengers should get ahead. When they do not get a price reduction. But they should be entitled to a discount when they must fly Airbus instead Dreamliner. Transportation Appeal Tribunal’s conclusion is very special, says Sandakerveien-Nielsen.

He stressed that Norwegian’s customers receive the compensation they are entitled to by powerful delays, adding that the company also has given customers called goodwill compensation as an apology on several occasions.

Low Cost Airlines

On Transportation Appeal Tribunal statistics follows WizzAir the space behind English five decisions they have chosen not to follow, while both Vueling and Ryanair have two.

– Should we draw a conclusion, it seems that there is a company that markets as low-cost carrier, which does not follow the decisions. Famous brands such as SAS, Lufthansa, British Airways and KLM conspicuous by their absence from the lists of those who do not follow decisions, says Flønes. (NTB)
