Rem Offshore-the boss goes off – E24

the Ceo of Rem Offshore has terminated his position and will, by agreement with the board of directors go off immediately after the extraordinary general meeting 10. October, according to an announcement.

Both the chairman of the board Åge Remøy and Arild Myrvoll even says to E24 that it was Myrvoll even who wanted to go by now.

– It is so easy that I have been the ceo of an independent publicly traded company, and that I have been in a relatively short time. In connection with the merger has the position been significantly changed. The whole reason I took the job originally is now turned upside down. Therefore I want a change, ” says Myrvoll to E24.

Myrvoll has been in Rem for a number of years, but he took over as ceo as late as in the beginning of may. The decision that he should go from cfo to chief was announced in February.

the Company Rem is in the process of being merged with Solstad Offshore after Kjell Inge Røkke Aker in the summer blocked Rems refinansieringsplan by buying up the bonds to the company. Fusjonsplanene to create Norway’s second largest offshorerederi was announced on the 28. July.

He chose this, on an independent basis. He has been in the business for 10 years and has done a fantastic job. I wish him good luck for the future, ” says chairman of the board Åge Remøy, who did not want to give a further comment to the retirement.

It is widely known in the industry that Åge Remøy, is very unhappy with the way the Aker behaved in the process by forcing through a merger. Remøy has also expressed concern for the position of the maritime cluster in Sunnmøre if more of the offshorerederiene which is being taken over.

In the fusjonsplanen is, however, the base at Fosnavåg secured through that plattformstøtteskipene (PSV) should have the base there, while konstruksjonsskipene (CSV) to keep on Solstad base in Skudeneshavn, north of Stavanger.

To assist with the merger

Opposite the E24 has Arild Myrvoll a far more positive to the merger with Solstad:

– I am still positive to the merger and the way Anders has chosen to go. I am confident that Aker and Anders has chosen a good path. Aker has the good knowledge about the capital market and Solstad know the industry and the market well, ” says Myrvoll.

– Are you presses us out when Rem now to be a part of Anders?

not necessarily. I have had and have a very good dialogue with both Solstad and Aker, ” says Myrvoll.

The outgoing Rem-the boss will now assist the company to get in the harbor merger between Rem and Solstad, when needed. Thus, he will still have a part to do throughout the fall. Shareholders will vote fusjonsplanen and the other parts of the refinancing at the extraordinary general meeting 10. October.

– Have you made any thoughts about what you will do after this?

not necessarily. I have simply not had time yet, ” says Myrvoll.
