Sandberg: – Statoil wonder consumers – Future Requirements

Deputy Chairman of the Progress Party, Per Sandberg believes Statoil wonder consumers by not putting down gasoline prices. Oil company denies this.

– They irritate me. They owe always on something else, like when the oil price went up or the dollar when it went down. It seems that petrol price will increase no matter what we do, says Progress Party deputy Per Sandberg of Statoil, in a statement in which he strongly against the company.

The Director of Communications Statoil Fuel & amp; Retail, Pål Heldaas, told NTB that the debate is about the list price, but it’s pump price should occupy politicians.

Pump Price in Norway normally consists of 60 per cent tax, 30 percent wholesale and 10 percent of fuel companies.

– Statoil Fuel & amp; Retail has zero impact on 90 percent of the pump price, and within 10 percent we cover all our costs and profits, says Heldaas adding that there is little merit in the industry – and certainly not profits that may affect the price to the end user significantly.

– A parody

Monday reduces Statoil petrol price by 20 cents. This impresses not vice chairman of the Progressive Party.

– The government has lowered the vehicle-related fees in 2015 and it is also a relative decrease in fuel taxes. Statoil now lowers taxes by 20 cents, I believe is a parody, it is nothing with oil prices or currency changed. Statoil can not predict next week’s development, continues Sandberg.

Heldaas say they now set the price more down next week than they put it up, and that the cause is just change in their cost prices and the dollar.

Called on the carpet

Earlier this week it was announced that Finance Minister Siv Jensen (FRP) believe tax relief must come motorists benefit through cheaper gasoline, and that she has called into petrol companies on the carpet an explanation, as she had done in December.

– We are pleased to get the opportunity to show the Minister of Finance newer editions of the numbers we went through the last time we met. I think she will be reassured that time also, says Heldaas.
