Visma proposes ban on bills on paper – digi.no

If all billing in this country is done electronically, the society can save 27 billion a year.

The calculation is made by Visma software, which advises industry minister introduce compulsory e-invoicing immediately.

– The government must now introduce compulsory e-invoicing for all businesses and it must urgently set a date for implementation, says CEO Erlend Sogn.

Pen Stroke

The reason for the initiative is the Government’s aim of simplifying the business community with initiatives that will save society 15 billion.

– With just a stroke of the pen, the Government could more than triple their current ambitions savings for businesses until 2017, believes Sogn.

He points this will efficiencies for Norwegian businesses and contribute to increased productivity and competitiveness in what today is a pressure business.

The gain is calculated from a saved cost of 83 dollars for each incoming invoices and 56 million for each outgoing, based on a total number of 121.1 million invoices annually.

It takes around 25 minutes to handle an incoming paper invoice. Half an electronically scanned invoice requires 12 minutes, while an e-invoicing is done away in 7 minutes.

The cost is set on the basis of average monthly salary for all employees, calculated by Statistics Norway (SSB ). It is NOK 7.25 pr. minute.

The difference between pure e-invoicing and the other types is 11.5 minutes at a per minute rate of 7.25, which provides more than 83 million.

Caution

For outbound invoices, it is also estimated costs for identification as postage, envelopes and printing.

– We also see an effect in that e-invoices requiring fewer reminders. It streamlines the payment stream, explains project leader Rein Baardsen Visma software.

Private and public enterprises use total 17 billion on such paper handling billing to each other.

Dispatch to private individuals have a potential of 181 million e-invoices per year, and the gain is estimated at 10 billion. Then an estimate of the inhabitants themselves saving of time etc. not included.

– The volumes are cross-checked with the figures in SSB, Nets and Norges Bank and is not set higher than that real. I believe that we are conservative in all projections all the way, says Baardsen to digi.no.

Food Minister Monica Mæland are asked to comment on the proposal, and digi.no follow up the matter.
