Songa Offshore has today taken delivery of “Songa Equinox” from Daewoo Shipbuilding & amp; Marine Engineering shipyard in Korea, it is stated in a message.
The rig will soon be transported to Norway for the start of an 8-year contract with Statoil on the Troll field. Drilling is expected during the fourth quarter of 2015.
Songa Equinox is the first rig in a series of four category D rigs specifically designed for and under contract with Statoil.
