Since the mid-1990s, Technip distinguished himself as developer of subsea fields and transport systems on the Norwegian shelf.

Department of Stavanger

Technip Group is represented in Norway subsidiary Technip Norway with headquarters in Sandvika, and operational centers in Oslo, Stavanger, Haugesund and pipeline plant at Orkanger. It is not known how many people have to go from their jobs in Norway.

– I can not comment at this stage, says Arnt Helge Reilstad at Stavanger office to Aftenbladet.

Technip’s office in Stavanger was established in 2006 and grew to about 200 employees. Technip moved in autumn 2014 from Hinna Park to Forus Industrial Sola split.

A restructuring plan will accelerate cost reductions to strengthen the Group through and beyond the downturn in oil and gas, the company said in a statement.

– I know a lot about how the restructuring plan will operate in Norway, but it’s Technip centrally should speak to the press, says Odd Strømsnes, CEO of Technip in Norway to Aftenbladet.

Cut Frames North Sea

Overall, the company will save 830 million euros, over 7.4 billion Norwegian kroner, of which 700 million euros in savings should be done already in 2016.

A significant part of the restructuring plan limits onshore / offshore segment of the company. Sales or closures are relevant in markets where it is unlikely that the operation will be profitable even in the medium term. This applies to selected, unnamed, countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America, including Brazil.

Subsea operations remains solid, according to the press release. It will still cost reductions here too, especially in markets where new project awards are under pressure, such as the North Sea.
