The Greek banks may remain closed pending agreement with the EU comes into place – a process that can take up to a month, according to Greece’s Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.
– The reopening of banks are subject to approval of the agreement, which will take place within a month, says Tsipras TV channel ERT.
Prime Minister reiterated its call for the European Central Bank (ECB) to increase payments to Greek banks.
Banks in Greece has been closed since 29 June, after many outlets threatened to topple system. Over the past two weeks, the Greeks only had the opportunity to receive 60 euros daily. (© NTB)
