Now farms sell sides with 22 percent alcohol – Telemarksavisa

From Friday, July 1, it is permissible for manufacturers to engage in direct sales of beverages mead and cider with up to 22 percent alcohol content.

It is still not allowed to produce and sell beer, wine or alcopops with higher volume than 4.7. Until the ban was legal to sell beer and cider from farms with up to 4.7 percent.

The production and sales can not commence until the municipality has granted applications for extended retail license. An extended license can only be granted if production takes place at point of sale and the sale forms part of the site’s overall character and touts.

It is a requirement that at least one third of the items are self-produced, and each manufacturer can maximum selling 15,000 liters of this type of product per year.

Health Directorate will prepare comments on the new provisions.
