Indian newspapers: Telenor in talks about giving away India-business – E24

According to Dagens Næringsliv writes storavisene The Times of India and Economic Times on Friday that there have been negotiations between Telenor and its rival Idea Cellular in autumn.

The two companies have held talks with a view to transferring all obligations and assets without an actual payout, ” says a person familiar with the developments in the case to the newspapers.

Telenor owes the indian state 2.5 billion in license fees and has liabilities of around nok 2.2 billion to financial institutions, according to The Economic Times.

In October, said several analysts that Telenor could come to pull out of India within a short time.
