Telenor customers surfer, rings and lyrics for 14 million an hour – Aftenposten

Revenue in the second quarter was NOK 30.2 billion, shows the company’s quarterly report Wednesday. Operating profit totaled 10.6 billion before amortization and other items.

– Telenor continued to deliver encouraging results for the second quarter, says CEO Jon Fredrik Baksaas.

In the first quarter delivered the company’s highest sales ever. The figures for the second quarter is almost as good, and he says Baksaas continued growth this year.

Customer data use in Norway has more than doubled compared with the second quarter last year, according to the company. This has resulted in a revenue growth for mobile services of 6 percent.

– We continue to build out 4G network across the country with the aim to cover 95 percent of the population by the end of the year, Baksaas said.

Among Telenor’s latest initiatives is Myanmar. The CEO also mentions operations there as part of the increased revenues.

– In July we passed ten million subscribers. Strong demand for voice and data services continues to increase both revenue and profitability, says CEO.

The second quarter results provide Baksaas as CEO. August 17th is the Sigve Brekke who takes over the job.

* Revenue: 30,179 million (NOK 25,657 million)

* Operating profit before depreciation: 10.571 million (9498 million)

* Adjusted earnings: 6,413 million (5,947 million)

* Profit after tax: 3.635 million (2.319 million)
