Good bank customers get down from 2.5 per cent floating rate, and banks are pricing more differently than before. Vegard Andre Rooth was lured over from DNB to Danske Bank with cheaper mortgages.

Other Vegard Rooth (51) stands outside the residence on Nordstrand in Oslo, which he financed with a new mortgage with Danske Bank. He holds an MBA, and contacted the bank when Akademikerne in winter signed a new agreement for its members with a sponsored interest in Danske Bank.
– I’ve been faithful DNB customer for 15 years. After I contacted Danske Bank on email, I received a prompt response, and felt that the service was very good. And then they beat DNB on interest rates. Handyed said Rooth.
From paying around 3.2 percent interest rate on housing loans last autumn, he has 2.7 percent floating rate at Danske Bank today. Danske Bank initiated a clean fight on the mortgage at the New Year, when it took over the contract with Akademikerne by DNB. Later, most banks followed suit with rate cuts.
