Oil prices fell to the lowest level since august – Aftenposten

the Price of nordsjøolje fell on Friday, the entire 3.3 per cent to 44,3 per barrel, around 1.6 to the dollar, lower than a day earlier. The price is thus the lowest since august.

The 14 countries in OPEC produced a total 33,64 million barrels of oil a day in October, an increase of 240.000 barrels compared with the previous month. The numbers are in line with a report from The international energy agency IEA, who on Thursday stated that the OPEC countries are pumping up the oil in record amounts.

OPEC sent prices up from the historic bunnivåer after the cartel earlier in the year announced that they would work to decrease production to increase prices.

OPEC has said that they would also try to get non-members on a cut in production. It can be difficult.

While OPEC countries themselves pumped significantly more oil than they had predicted, expected production from non-OPEC members like Russia, Brazil, Canada and Kazakhstan also to increase sharply.
