Statoil will not make use of the Super Puma helicopter again – E24

the company will not use the H225-the helicopter, even though the Caa-n should invalidate flyforbudet after pressure from the european aviation authority, EASA and the efta, ESA, writes Stavanger Aftenblad.

Norway and the Uk are alone to maintain flyforbundet for two types of so-called Super Puma helicopters after Turøy-the accident in april. 12 men and one woman were killed in the accident.

Before the accident, used the company to the together seven Super Puma helicopters of the type of H225 on the Norwegian continental shelf. Now these are replaced by the helicopter type Sikorsky S-92.
