Number of Homebuilders Association show Monday that 25,404 homes were started in 2014. It was 8.2 percent fewer than the 27,666 homes that were initiated in 2013.
Commencement gathered momentum in Q4 and especially in December, when over 5,000 homes were initiated. From Q4 2013, growth was 12 percent.

CEO Per Jaeger emphasizes, however, that sales trends since June has shown a strong upward tendency, mainly because apartment sales seriously have returned after a relatively weak start to 2014.
Sales in Q4 were 1.0 percent higher than the same period in 2013, aided by that over 3,000 homes were sold in December.
– December 2014 was a very strong month for both sales and housing starts, says Jaeger.

Fears price explosion

He thinks it built 8,000 fewer homes each year in the Oslo region than the need would suggest.
