SV congratulate Syriza won the elections – Dagbladet.no

SV Audun Lysbakken congratulate Syriza victory in the Greek elections and says SV rejoices over the historic election victory.

– SYRIZA victory gives hope to the millions who are thrust into unemployment and poverty by the financial crisis. Not only in Greece but in other European countries. The Greek voters have said clearly from that tightening policy has lost its legitimacy. When over 40 percent of Greek children living in poverty, it is obvious that the EU medicine against crisis has been misguided, says Lysbakken.

– The EU must now listen to people requirement for a new course. Debt must be canceled, it must be invested in growth and new jobs and social programs to overcome poverty must get started, he said further.

Greece’s current Prime Minister Antonis Samaras has admitted defeat and congratulated Syriza with the victory, but it was late Sunday evening not yet clear whether Syriza get an outright majority in the National Assembly and thus can form a government alone. It says only about one or two mandates.

About Syriza unable to form a government, says Lysbakken that it will face strong opposing forces.

– It will penetrate support from other European countries, and left parties across the continent are now preparing to work for such support.

French President François Hollande congratulates Syriza leader Alexis Tsipras won the elections and offer cooperation to achieve growth in the eurozone.

But the British Prime Minister David Cameron is concerned. Unlike Hollande is not Cameron immediately outside with congratulations to Syriza, which is the flip-flop to get an outright majority in the Greek parliament.

He warns against the consequences instead. “The Greek election will increase economic uncertainty across Europe. Therefore Britain stick to their plan and ensure stability at home, “wrote Cameron on his Twitter account Sunday evening.

Hollande on his side expressed his desire “close cooperation between our two countries to achieve growth and stability in the eurozone.”
