Aker-boss confirms talks with several supply-actors – E24

– We have dialogue with several actors. It is not only the companies themselves, but also the companies ‘ banks, bondholders and other shareholders. But it is a complex landscape, and it’s going to take time before the structures are finally settled, ” says Øyvind Eriksen to E24, questions about the Aker reported interests within the supply.

Monday let Eriksen forward the Aker group’s results for the third quarter, and aided by a solid increase in the value of the new “crown jewel” Aker BP report of substantial growth in the value adjusted equity.

at the same time showed that Aker’s current investeringspotensial is nearly six billion.

part of this can come to become the property of the supply, in which Aker has been a significant player in the ongoing consolidation process through his ownership interest in Solstad Offshore.

– Supply the market will be demanding in the years to come. There is a overcapacity in several segments of the day, which need to be addressed before the market once again come into balance. Aker’s view is unchanged: We believe this will best happen with larger and stronger industrial devices. Therefore, Aker invested in Solstad Offshore as a platform, with the ambition to, in cooperation with Solstad play a role in the consolidation, ” says Eriksen.

– We believe that this is required for the industry, and we want Solstad Offshore will contribute.

– Great values on game

Recently, it was confirmed that Farstad Shipping has entered into a non-binding memorandum of understanding with the Siem Shipping in the ongoing restructuration process the company is in.

Until then, it was reported that it was Aker who stood foremost in the queue of suitors.

– We are not a part of the ongoing dialogue between the Siem and Farstad, so we can’t comment on, ” says Eriksen Monday.

He also don’t want to say anything about they have been in contact with Farstad in advance of that Siem agreement was signed.

We have been in contact with several, but realize that it’s going to take time before we come to a consensus on the transactions. There are large values at stake and the many actors with partly different interests and positions, ” he says.

If the right opportunity were to emerge, however, is the money available.

” We are very pleased with the position we have in Solstad in the day, and it is not the resources in the Solstad as the limit for further growth at the moment. But we must be patient and have discipline. It’s not just about increasing the fleet size, but also take the opportunity to strengthen Solstad as high-quality supplier of supply services. It is not all within the supply that is interesting, even for Solstad.

a Great deal of respect for Sunnmøre

When Farstads Siem-cooperation became known, this was interpreted as a happy day for Sunnmøre, in all the time the agreement is regarded as a step towards the continued operation of an independent, publicly traded Farstad.

This joins a number of less positive sentiment aimed at Aker and Skudeneshavn-based Solstad from the maritime cluster outside Ålesund, which fears that the geographical embedding of the sunnmørsflåten shall wither.

Questions about this given the otherwise very restrained Aker-chief to draw on the nose.

We’re completely rejected to this type of statement. There are few industrial actors, which has meant more for the maritime cluster on the west coast than the Aker up through the years. This is a technology and centres of expertise which Aker has a great deal of respect for, and that Aker would like to contribute to to develop.

– So you see further value in the cluster at Sunnmøre?

of Course.
