Went into over 34 million kiloet in the third quarter – iLaks

Bakkafrost group delivered an EBIT of 254,7 million Danish kroner in the third quarter.

The spot price continues to be high, but marginally down from the previous quarter and our oppdrettsegment delivered a very good margin. VAP segment are struggling when spot prices are high, but some positive changes were made in the quarter.
Segment for the fishmeal, fish oil and fish feed continues to deliver strong results. The future is exciting with farming operations in Suðuroy, which is now being a part of the Bakkafrost Group, which gives us new opportunities, ” says ceo Regin Jacobsen in a comment.

Among the highlights last quarter was the acquisition of the competitor Faroe Farming.

Strong demand for salmon in almost all markets, has resulted in a significant increase in salmon prices. The global supply of atlantic salmon is expected to increase only around
a per cent in 2017, compared to 2016, writes Bakkafrost in an announcement.

Risk
