A new report from DNB Markets is the scope of notified position shot in the oil industry summed again. Highest estimate is now at 9551 positions, including contractors.
In the oil services company Bilfinger it was first announced that 600 jobs going away. So it became clear that the number could be reduced to 500. Towards the end of last year could Manager Roger Berg-Hansen Federation Bilfinger happy that things began to look brighter, and that they managed to keep more people in work than feared, writes Stavanger Aftenblad.
Of the original 600 was 466 from the operator side, the rest of the administration.
NHO Annual Conference can follow here.
– We have managed to keep around 200 of the 466. We worked intensely to ensure work for as many as possible and felt that things started to loosen slightly towards the end of the year. But then came the new year with continued declining oil prices and now the situation is hesitant. Now we fear that there will be new outlets, says Berg-Hansen.
No coffee in the minister
Club manager says that the work now being canceled all the time. An example is Statoil, which really should have up to 70 people from Bilfinger to maintenance work on the Oseberg field center outside Bergen.
– As was also the mission canceled. We now see that areas that have had good workload, now experiencing a deep crisis. We now no quite know what will happen, nor the oil companies, says Berg-Hansen.
Berg-Hansen has previously asked Minister Robert Eriksson about taking the trip over the mountains to get insight into the serious situation.
– Former authorities have provided assistance to other industries in crisis. But labor minister has not even invited us for coffee and a chat and it disappoints me that he did not have time to meet working people, says Berg-Hansen.

– Viewing seriousness
An overview of reported downsizing in the oil industry are made of stockbroker Truls Oma Erichsrud DNB Markets.
– The figures are taken from different articles about downsizing. In most cases I’ve even gone back to the companies to get the numbers confirmed, says Oma Erichsrud.
– The situation becomes obvious when I talk to people in the industry in Stavanger. Many feel that their jobs are unsafe.
They announced position cuts has risen from 4,000 in early September that they now approaching 10,000.
– So we see a trend here. Some companies have indicated that it will cut. The overview also shows that all areas of the industry are affected, from those who prepare meals and clean the rigs to those welds together pipes and templates outside of supply boats. This also says that oil companies look seriousness of the situation, and do what is needed, says Oma Erichsrud.
Pending more
The summation of the announced staffing cuts in the oil industry shows how serious the situation is, believes union leader Hilde Marit Rysst in Safe.
– Some still believe that we are talking about a small change and stabilization, but I’m very disagree. The overview shows how cuts in operating companies have large repercussions, says Rysst .
Now she worried about how long the downturn will last. Also Rysst believes authorities must see that there is now talk about more than one adjustment.
– Statoil save campaign began before the fall in oil prices. Then one must ask what is happening now. I fear further cuts.
