Labor believes government yields to Kjos – HegnarOnline

Labor believes it threatens Norwegian jobs in the air.

– We have received a clear signal that the government will allow to heave regulations. It’s really a question of whether we should have Norwegian employees in aviation in the future or not, says Lise Christoffersen (Ap), member of the Labour and Social Affairs Committee in Parliament to Dagens Næringsliv.

Norwegian has established a subsidiary in Ireland because it provides more traffic rights and favorable financing of new aircraft. In addition, airlines use Asian personnel on planes. This is not allowed on planes registered in Norway.

Christoffersen has sent a letter to Minister Ketil Solvik-Olsen (FRP) about Norwegian hiring of Irish registered aircraft on long-haul to the Norwegian business.

Solvik-Olsen has replied that the government is considering changing the provisions on temporary hiring of Irish registered aircraft to Norway. Solvik-Olsen considering helping Norwegian (NAS), so hiring may be permanent.

– This opens social dumping, and the government can raze aviation in Norway, says Christoffersen.

Communications Director Anne-Sissel Skånvik in English says she reacts strongly to initiative of social dumping.

– It is extremely condescending and disrespectful to our employees in several countries. But we should not cut all Labor over one comb. It’s Labor representatives who understand that English is a company with international growth and establishment abroad, like a number of other Norwegian companies, says Skånvik.
