The battle for the values of one of Norway’s largest oilfield could end in court, writes DN.
Oil Company The Norwegian disagree with the other four license partners on the ownership distribution of the Johan Sverdrup field.
– If a party is dissatisfied with the decision of the Ministry, the company may appeal the decision to the King in Council. If an appeal is not successful there, the company can sue the state to get known the decision invalid, says Professor Ernst Nordtveit in petroleum law at the University of Bergen, said.
Professor Catherine Banet at the Nordic Institute of Maritime Law at the University of Oslo supports Nordtveit.
– It is true that any decisions of the authorities can be appealed, and that the parties here can go to court against the state, c.f. including Public Administration, says Banet to DN.
