Statkraft already owns 44.45 percent of Desenvix, which owns, operates and maintains water and wind power plants in Brazil. Friday Statkraft signed an agreement with Jackson Empreendimentos to buy Jackson’s stake of 36.8 percent. Thus achieves Statkraft a stake of 81.25 percent in Desenvix and becomes majority owner.

The agreement is subject to approval by the third owner in Desenvix, the Brazilian pension fund Funcef, which has a stake of 18.7 per cent, as well as from Brazilian authorities and creditors. The plan is to complete the sale by the end of the second quarter.
