Competition Authority investigates Orkla company – HegnarOnline

In a press release from the Norwegian Competition Authority confirmed that the audit checks whether Jotun has broken competition law.

The reason for control is that the Authority wishes to confirm or disprove suspected breaches of competition law, in the form of misuse of dominant position. The case concerns Jotun operations in Norway.

The case began with a dawn raid on February 25 last year. Evidence is an unannounced inspection that can be implemented for suspected breaches of competition law. This can be done without the consent of those being controlled, but must first be approved by the court.

– The Competition Authority is conducting a dawn raid does not imply that the company is guilty of offenses. Authority conducts a thorough work to identify all aspects of the case, and we can not say anything about the outcome of the investigations now says investigation director Arild Oma.

The Competition Authority has, in line with practice in this such cases, gone out with this information after Jotun have confirmed control public.

The Competition Authority has no further specific information to provide at this stage of the case.

Orkla owns 42.5 percent of Jotun A / S.
