[broom.no] There are many who buy new cars every year. But many more, about 400,000 Norwegians actually purchasing a used car annually. It will say that this market is considerably larger than the new car market.
But for anyone to sell their car and are unsure what to put as price, or wondering whether the car they want to buy is appropriately priced, it can be difficult to get answers.
Now KVD Norway started a service that will make it all easier.
KVD is an online market place for the sale of used cars via auction. They can also take on selling cars for private individuals.
In Sweden they also have a price consideration aside, and now is the same opened up in Norway.
– We have created a tool for anyone to buy or sell a car. Using a keystroke you can extract accurate information about how much your car is worth, right now. And not least, you can check whether the seller has given you a good price on the car you want, says Vegard Lunde, CEO of KVD Norway.
They are calculated from market prices, actual sales prices and forecasts from KVDs automotive experts .
Last year performed KVD total 17.4 million price assessments for individuals, businesses and public authorities. This corresponds to a bilvurdering every other second, around the clock, all year round.
CEO of KVD Norway, Vegard Lunde think assessment service will be of great value for Norwegian motorists.
– The buying car is one of the biggest investments we make. Meanwhile often Bilhandel characterized by uncertainty, because many have too little knowledge about car. When consumers get access to updated used prices, set the stronger when they are out shopping, says Vegard Lunde.
Price calculations are based on advanced algorithms, developed over many years.
When the service is now being launched in Norway, there is knowledge about which car models are traded in Norway for the past 13 years.
Every single car model has unique variables for impairment.
Price Experts have built a complete database of cars in Norway. It corresponds to about 9,000 vehicles. The database is updated with fresh sales figures from sources all over Norway.
– Our staff has many years of experience and expertise in depreciation and how market changes affect car prices, for example in connection with launches of new car models. In our assessments are also calculated predictions about future models and anything that may have impact on the market, says Vegard Lunde.
However, not all models can be considered. We try to look up the price on a 2011 model Audi A7 and the 2012 model BMW 740d xDrive. Both little outside the “mainstream” – but current dream cars for many. These are however not appreciated.
But another relatively rare car, we manage to get a price. VW Passat CC, a 2009 model, which has rolled more than 100,000 kilometers. Here it is asked whether it has DSG automatic transmission, imported or Norwegian, whether it is used as a taxi, whether it has metallic paint, dog / pet / smoke and whether it has a towbar, before the assessment is made.
Price to KVD arrived at 187,600 dollars, which is referred to as about price when buying from a dealer. Price when buying from private suggested to 162500-173800 respectively.
The current car is for sale by the dealer a few thousand kroner over KVD award, with one year warranty.
A more relevant example is perhaps the electric car Nissan Leaf. Here it is in any case a good basis to calculate based.
We check one 2012 model, which has rolled more than 25,000 km. This is assessed respectively 187,700 kroner (from retailer) and 163400-174700 million from private persons.
In this case, the price of the vehicle in question, sold private, somewhat lower than the proposed KVD.
Here separates the rest a great deal on whether the vehicle is imported or not. Something that also reflects reality. Cars imported from as France lacks some equipment and have not five-year warranty as in Norway.
– A few cars are not built. We do not assess vans on green signs or very exclusive and sporty cars. These must be considered separately. We take not entirely new cars. The models must have been on the market about half a year before they join.
Cars older than 2001 are not included. Simply because it so old cars differs so much when it comes to what condition they are in, that it becomes difficult to give a good rating.
– The experience of Sweden is, moreover, that 90 per cent of searches done on cars that are two to six years old, says Lunde.
Both equipment and mileage are thus part of the assessment.
– Is there a hard and fast rule for how you calculate cost of mileage?
– No, so easy it is not. Each model has its algorithm. For example losing a small car with petrol engine itself more in value if it has got many kilometers, than a big car with a diesel engine, according to Vegard Lunde.
It should be stressed that the valuation of KVD is still in the initial phase.
– This is the beta version and we are going to update the way. Daily emphasis is new information on the database, laws Lunde. (ANB)
