Here are this year's Nordic starred restaurants – Dagens Næringsliv

The matter is updated.

On Thursday morning announced Michelin guide its new guide to the Nordic countries – for the first time will also include restaurants outside capitals.

list contains no changes for Norwegian restaurants from last year. Maaemo retains its two stars, and Fauna, Statholdergaarden and Ylayali retains all one star in the prestigious guide.

See the complete list of the Nordic countries at the bottom of the case.

Did not three stars

The big question before publication was whether Maaemo in Oslo would be among the first Scandinavian restaurants that get three stars and thus can be termed as a restaurant “worth a special journey.”.

So it was therefore not in years. Opposite DN nevertheless chef and co-owner Esben Holmboe Bang not express any disappointment.

– It is amazing, we are so proud. It is fantastic to get hold the space we have in Norwegian gastronomy, says Holmboe Bang minutes after publication.

– We work very hard to improve ourselves every day to get allowed to be only restaurant with two stars in Norway, he said.

Purple Heart

Restaurant Eik and Oro Bar & amp; Grill get the Bib Gourmand – mark indicating that the restaurant serves well cooked food at affordable price. Stars dealt based only on food served, besides showing cutlery symbols assessment of environmental, service, and more.

Out of this list disappears Lille B. The small brasserie owned by Christen Sveaas’ company Kistefos through Bagatelle as. Restaurant company ran until last fall gourmet restaurant Bagatelle.

– It was expected. We spoke with Michelin guide when we let down Bagatelle. It has the price to do. When the price is not the right, you fall out. Think of the economy, do not think of Bib Gourmand, said Michelin guide to us, telling the restaurant manager at Lille B Niklas Johannsson DN Thursday morning.

“Kjempefornøyd”

Bjorn Svensson Fauna is on their side “very happy” to retain its star.

– It was what we hoped for. I had hoped Noma would get three stars, and what we really believed that they would all year. But I have no idea why they have not got this. But you never know how Michelin jobs and one for respecting the work they do, he says to DN.

– We are very satisfied with what we are doing and are very pleased that Michel cookies rewards us with a star. We were the caught off guard last, he said.

Speculation

The tension was high in advance also at restaurants outside Oslo which had a chance to become the Michelin restaurants for the first time. Shortly after the guide was published, began spekuasjonene on which cities and restaurants reviewers actually visited.

Sven-Erik Renaa driver REE NAA in Stavanger and says in a comment to DN:

– No surprises for us, as they have not been here in Stavanger even, he highlights .

After the DN understand, it is not always the Michelin reviewers manifests itself. Michelin guide’s representatives have not yet responded to the DN questions about which cities and restaurants they have considered.
