Hunderfossen and Caprino heir Remo Caprino meet in court Monday to clarify issues of copyright roller coaster Il Tempo Extra Gigante.
Parties did not reach agreement in the dispute over rights, thus ending the matter in court. It was Gudbrandsdølen Dagningen who first publicized case earlier this year.
The case is about the new roller coaster in Hunderfossen Family Park, where the cart is designed as a larger version of the car Il Tempo Gigante.
Disagree on base
Hunderfossen argue that car is built on Kjell Aukrust original drawings. The park shows that they had reached an agreement with Aukrust Foundation, which manages the rights of the author and illustrator.
Caprino thinks that the design is based on the car which was made into the feature film Flåklypa Grand Prix, and that Caprino Film Center and Aukrust Foundation therefore have shared copyright.
Prolonged matter
Hunderfossen and Caprino should have been in discussions about the development of the new attraction for several years, without that they came to an agreement. Family park’s CEO Per Arne Slapø stated that Caprino had the opportunity to give input.
In an interview with VG responded Caprino that he was dismayed that he was not involved in the development of attraction. Last year he demanded that the attraction and promotion had to cease referring to copyright infringement and violation of the Marketing Control Act.
The case begins in South Gudbrandsdal District Court Monday. The government has eight days to matter. (© NTB)
