Dry well in the Norwegian Sea – HegnarOnline

The operator of Zumba PL 591, Tullow Oil Norway AS, is in the process of completing the drilling of exploration well 6507 / 11-11. The well has been drilled in the Norwegian Sea, about 14 km southeast of the Heidrun field.

The primary exploration target for the well was to prove hydrocarbons in Upper Jurassic sandstones. The well proved a lack of reservoir development and hydrocarbons were proven. The well was drilled to a vertical depth of 2900 meters below sea level and terminated in Capture Group, says North Energy.

Partners in the license are Tullow Oil Norway AS (operator 60 percent stake), Lime Petroleum Norway AS (25 percent), and North Energy ASA (15 percent).
