No solution in sight for the strike – OBI Online

Thus, a further four companies hit by the strike: Radisson Blu Haugesund, Joe’s Pizza at Gardermoen, Vollan Gjestestue in Troms and Sunndalsøra hotel.

The strike has now lasted for almost three weeks, and with the past plassfratredelsene has over 7,200 employees downed tools. Saturday circulated rumors that the Norwegian Hospitality would come with a concrete proposal for a solution. But Fellesforbundet know nothing about a new initiative, according to information officer Vidar Grønli.

– We have not received any request from the Norwegian Hospitality Association, says he said.

– We are open to talk with other party. But so far there has been no interest, he says.

The hotel and restaurant staff strikes primarily for the right to local bargaining, something Norwegian Hospitality Association opposes. Employers argue among other things that it would be unfair if the employees of the same hotel chain receive unequal pay.

So far it has not been necessary to consider a hotel chain as a single unit, with identical agreement for the employees, informs Grønli.
