– All other federation in the NHO has for many years accepted straight to local bargaining. This was our main requirement this year and is something we believe counterpart certainly ought to be accepted, says manager Jørn Eggum in Federation said.
But NHO service could not. And the money demanded was unacceptable for employers. Thus, conflict is a fact.
3351 members in 356 NHO enterprises in Rogaland, Hordaland, Nordland, Oslo, Sør-Trøndelag and Vestfold will go on strike from 8 o’clock Sunday morning. The same applies to 99 members by seven companies in Oslo, Oslo, Sør-Trøndelag and Hordaland. Both hotels, cafeterias and restaurants affected.
Hotels must close
Clarion Hotel Royal Christiania reckon that it becomes necessary to close pretty quickly as a result of the strike in the hotel and restaurant industry. 78 staff at the hotel in Oslo involved in a strike. The hotel with its 532 rooms among the largest in the capital.
– This will lead to a quick closure, says CEO André Schreiner said.
CEO Tarje Hellebust at Oslo Plaza says to NRK that he is concerned by the 98 members out on strike. He says while they at the hotel will do what they can to ensure that guests will not notice anything of the strike, but the hotel closes at 12 Sunday.
– No need to leave the hotel before noon tomorrow, and everyone gets to eat breakfast, says Hellebust Saturday afternoon.
Greater willingness to strike
the strike will affect companies differently, depending on how many employees are organized in each company. Many jobs will therefore continue to operate even if a few employees are on strike.
– There has been an influx of people who are very keen to strike. We are a low-wage groups which lags far behind in wage developments. Strike spirit is high, says Svein-Frode Petter Bakken Federation said.
He was Saturday afternoon in full activity in the office in Møllergata preparing to strike starting Sunday morning. Petter Bakken handing out yellow vests to pickets, T-shirts and other effects to help the hotel and restaurant workers to “win the strike” as he puts it.
– Sprenger frame
– The United Federation requirements blasts frame. We did not have the ability to accept such claims, elaborates Norwegian Hospitality Association chief negotiator Jostein Hansen.
The statement gets Eggum to react vigorously, although he admitted during a press conference Saturday night that percentage has been size on the table exceeding front subject’s frame of 2.4 percent. Those who are covered by the so-called national collective agreement earn only 77 per cent of average industrial.
– If one is to raise those who have been kept very low for some time, it goes without saying that we as a percentage must go over something beyond the frame in front subject, said Howard, who still characterized the economic demands as “moderate” and “righteous”.
– We have not at all a desire to hold someone down. It’s not the hotel and restaurant industry laggards. Wage levels have increased steadily. There are others who benefit from, such as in oil, which has given too high wage says Hansen said.
