Olav Thon starts construction on Gränsrasta next year. Soon there will be even more shops to frolic in.
[Glåmdalen] Olav Thon is a busy man. Yet he answered the phone when Glåmdalen called – even though dinner was on the table.
One of Norway’s richest men confirms that he bought land in the area Gränsrasta. He wants to develop Charlottenberg like shopping mecca.
– Charlottenberg to be big, but it gets as big as Nordby I can not promise, says Olav Thon (92).
Nordby traded it for around four billion Swedish crowns annually, while in the two departments of Charlottenberg Shopping Centre sold it for just over two billion. Thon says he wants to start construction on Gränsrasta in 2017.
– Charlottenberg Shopping mall is quite large as it is, but I will probably expand by 5,000 square meters, says Thon, who also plans to build on Tallmon next year .
He believes there is room for new stores in Charlottenberg.
– there comes the ever-evolving business. Charlottenberg is an interesting place for shopping malls, and it is not difficult to rent premises there, says 92-year-old.
Per Ove Martinsson, director of Gränsrasta Gas & amp; Närbutik Aktiebolag, confirming the purchase. he does not wish to give details, but will come back with more details in the near future.
Thon group owns Nordby Shopping Center, Töcksfors Shopping Center and Charlotte Berg Shopping Center in Sweden.
4.1 million customers visited the Charlottenberg Shopping mall during the last year. There are 200,000 more than in 2014.
