Powerful oppbremsning in industrial production – Dagens Næringsliv

the Norwegian industrial production was down 6.2 per cent from July to august, according to recent statistics from Statistics Norway (SSB) on Friday.

Industriproduksjonsindeksen was expected to be down 0.5 per cent, according to TDN Finans.

Still, there are industries associated with the sector that contributes most to this decline, says STATISTICS norway.

In the three-month period June-august 2016 was industrial production down 2.8 per cent compared with the previous three-month period. It was here expected a fall of 1.0 per cent, according to TDN Finans.

The petroleumsrettede industry had seen a fall of 7.9 per cent within the three-month period, and is the main reason for the decline.

Seasonally-adjusted figures show a sharp decline in industrial production of 6.2 per cent from July to august 2016.

the Drop comes after an increase from June to July. Several industries contribute to the decline, but the largest contributions come from:

  • the construction of ships and oil platforms
  • machine industry
  • computing industry, and electric utstyrsindustri

In addition to the little activity in these industries, some of the decline in august is linked to more holidays in august in the year than the previous year, according to STATISTICS.

calendar-adjusted figures show that Norwegian industrial production went down 0.6 per cent from July 2015 to July 2016, according to STATISTICS.

index of industrial production (PII) refers to overall production within the oil and gas, manufacturing, mining and electricity supply.
