Displayed own shoes on StyleMags home while she was still editor – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): This week launched earlier StyleMag editor Celine Aagard shoes that she has designed in collaboration with Italian shoe brand Superga.

With the same shoes she was pictured on the cover of the magazine’s August numbers, writes Dagens Næringsliv.

According Supergas representative in Scandinavia, Eric Elm, the agreement with Aagard signed in March last year, and the product should have been clear in June. Same month went the appropriate number of Stylemag printed.

Rejects criticism

Celine Aagaard rejects criticism. In an email to Dagens Næringsliv writes that she had not had contact with Superga about a design appointment when she August posed on the cover of their own magazine.

– The selected cover is an editorial choice that lies with the edition responsible editor. The shoe you mention from Superga is not the model that I have today launched. Aller and StyleMag have always had an open dialogue with readers and been transparent about commercial links.

– As a comment to your cause otherwise I would also like to emphasize that I resigned my job in Aller Group 1 November 2014, she writes.

To be labeled

Pressens ethical rules prohibit journalists and editors to have assignments or financial ties that may create conflicts of interest in connection with their editorial tasks.

– The law says is that this is advertising and that it should be marked, says Consumer Gry Nergård to Dagens Næringsliv.

Aagaards chief, editor Gjyri Jeffrey Werp in Aller do not comment on the matter, according to the newspaper. Dagbladet has not succeeded in getting in contact with Aagaard.

It is not the first time Aagaard is in rough weather because of this front page. In August last year she received criticism for having driven with hidden advertising in a StyleMag interview where she talked about her blog.
