Tug of War on lavlønn – Aftenposten

Wednesday starting salary negotiations between LO and NHO full. If they fail to agree by Thursday evening, they meet up at the State mediator Friday morning. Need help parties from the broker is the reason that they can not agree on low pay increase.

– There are some who believe that no one should make below average sugar Petter Furulund, with an old tariff joke.

He is director of NHO Service and must fight members lawsuit against the industry.

Industries such as cleaning, hotel and restaurant and watchmen are terrified of a result where the industry gets zero settlement, in exchange for high low pay increase for service industries .

moderation has a price

No NHO can remember that they have had such a benevolent counterpart. LO leader Gerd Kristiansen has done much to convince members that the settlement will be moderate. Arve Bakke who leads the largest connected in the private sector, Unions, said that he sees no reason to argue about the 50-øre coins. He is ready for a settlement in which large parts of the industry do not get central well.

But LO negotiating mandate entails the fought hard “recovery of minimum wage rates and guarantee that promotes equal pay and counteracts lavlønn”. In other words, the lowest paid have real well.

NHO negotiating authority establishes that one must be careful with such addition. But when approaching crisis will NHO chief Kristin Skogen Lund remind that such powers are paper, not carved in stone.

Can not more

Lavlønn considered like that under 90 or 85 percent of manufacturing workers. Last year lay it on 425,000 per year. In the hotel and restaurant was average wage of 326,400 crowns.

Jostein Hansen Norwegian Hospitality says that companies can not withstand higher expenses.

– We already noticed that businesses cut. Firms ours have already begun to cut.

He can not understand why service firms, where salary costs are the biggest expense, should have to pay out the most.

– For me it hangs not add up . Should it be a moderate settlement must apply to all, he said.

– Some will say that the staff have very moderate salary already?

– Jo. But we are not a sheltered industry. When it becomes too expensive traveling Norwegians abroad, and tourists choose other targets.

Petter Furulund NHO Service says:

– Now I think they’ve gotten up wage levels so much that unions should find someone else to take on.

He rejoices not to drag his internal delegation.

– I reckon that the so-called majority understand that they will pay the bill in the end, he says.

Increases salary on the sink and security, companies must assume that the price of services increases.
